ASC Camp 2015

The Adventure Service Camp for all our KS3 pupils took place at the end of term. This annual event teaches pupils how to set up tents and keep a safe, tidy campsite, navigate on a 10km walk, how to use tools such as knives and saws safely, fire lighting, shelter building and this year, the year 9s learnt how to create a water filter using only natural sources and how to make a rabbit stew.

There are plenty of team games teaching them how to work together, communicate and problem solve effectively. Years 7 and 8 also took part in several outdoor workshops using maths, science and english in a creative way.

It serves as preparation for any pupils who wish to take part in the DofE Bronze Award in year 10

This year's camp was a huge success with both the pupils and staff having a fantastic time. To find out more about the Adventure Service Challenge Scheme click here.
