Berlin Bringing History Alive
Year 11 boys went on a fascinating History trip to the city of Berlin. From Nazi Germany to the Cold War, from a unified German Empire to the present re-unified Germany, stepping back into the history of this intriguing city has really brought their GCSE curriculum alive.
Pupils got to enjoy exploring historic places such as the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate and a Nazi concentration camp. The year 11 boys researched the trip and organised visits and accommodation. Whilst in Berlin the boys took it in turns to navigate around the city using every different form of public transport. The trip helped pupils to organise, budget and make important decisions.
Matt, a year 11 pupil said, “The trip was fantastic, we had so much fun as well as learning loads about German history which will help us in our GSCE exam.”
